John and Jean

John and Jean are both 78 and live in central Sacramento, California. John severely injured his back when he tried to lift a 20 pound pumpkin.  John had to have several surgeries and even when he went home he needed a hospital bed.  Even after all the surgeries, the doctor told him he might never be able to move much again.  But John was determined to get back on his feet no matter how much he hurt. At first John and Jean tried to make it on their own.  But then Jean strained her back and it was clear that they could not go on without a lot of help. 

John and Jean started with 24 hour care from ALL FOR YOU HOME CARE. They liked their caregivers, but they wanted to live independently on their own again and they wanted to do away with the extra costs.   As they got better, they were able to reduce the hours of care to 12 hours/day, then 8 hours/day, 4 hours/day and eventually they were able to live at home  without any home care.  The day that they were able to stop their services they held a party to thank all of the ALL FOR YOU HOME CARE staff. 

John says,
“Well, I won’t be trying to lift another pumpkin!  But I am glad that the doctor told me about ALL FOR YOU HOME CARE.  I can’t imagine where I would be without them.  I’m glad to tell everyone how great they are.”

Jean says,
“Looking back, I still don’t know how we made it without them (ALL FOR YOU HOME CARE).  Everyone over there works together and that’s how they changed our lives. I want to put my arms around them and give them all a big hug!”
